Innovation in Bloom:

How we push the industry forward— floral ceilings

At Artisan, innovation has never been about creating something outrages for the sake of attention.  It’s about asking, ‘What if?” and then refusing to accept that something can’t be done.  Some of our favorite projects have started with ideas that felt nearly impossible

Floristry is an ever-evolving industry, and at Artisan Bloom, we are always pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Innovation is at the core of our business, and nowhere is that more evident than in our floral installations.

We believe flowers can transform a space and create unforgettable experiences. From suspended floral designs to custom-built installations, we love bringing bold ideas to life. If our clients want something show-stopping, we are ready to make it happen. Our team and fellow vendors are constantly finding new ways to create designs that challenge expectations and leave a lasting impression.

We are continually inspired by the talented vendor partners who help transform ambitious ideas into extraordinary experiences. The scale and artistry of our work would not be possible without their expertise, innovation, and unwavering commitment to excellence. Every installation is the result of countless skilled hands working in harmony, and we are deeply grateful for the collaboration, trust, and creativity that make these remarkable visions a reality.

Blue sky Ceiling

Tasked with covering the entirety of the Blue Sky arena with greenery, our team had no shortage of work ahead. This installation took four days and more than 180 labor hours to complete, utilizing nearly seven linear miles of smilax to create a lush canopy overhead. While it would have been convenient to use a scissor lift, they are prohibited at this venue, so our team got creative with ladders and scaffolding, adding an extra layer of challenge to the process.

But, we didn't stop there. To further elevate the experience, we partnered with a lighting company to incorporate hanging glass globes, fairy lights, and suspended floral installations throughout the space. The result was an immersive environment that transformed the arena into an intimate, garden-inspired setting unlike anything guests had seen before.

St Regis Chandeliers

This event featured a fully curated, custom-built tent with chandeliers installed by All Out Event. We worked alongside (insert planner) to design four large, cloud-like hydrangea chandeliers—an idea that, in theory, would have been nearly impossible to promise a client.

The primary challenge was working with such a delicate bloom in extreme conditions. In Utah’s June heat, temperatures at the top of a tent can reach up to 115 degrees, creating a harsh environment for fresh florals.

To solve this, the chandeliers were constructed using a thoughtfully designed base of faux hydrangea for structure and longevity layered with fresh hydrangea blooms added at the very last moment to ensure peak freshness and visual impact.

tented Ceiling

This event is a fabulous example of why the order of operations is so important in event production. Every vendor's work builds on the last, requiring careful coordination and timing to ensure a seamless final result.

The rental company first installed the twinkle lights, creating the foundation for the overhead design. We then layered in the greenery, after which the rental company returned to install the grid structure. Once the grid was in place, we covered it with additional greenery before the rental team came back again to hang the disco balls. From there, the venue installed the dance floor, followed by the vinyl company applying the custom floor wrap. Finally, we returned to install the dance floor cover and add the fresh floral elements as late as possible, ensuring every bloom looked its absolute best when guests arrived. The end result feels effortless, but achieving it takes a carefully choreographed sequence of vendors, timing, and teamwork.

St. Regis ceiling

Working alongside an exceptional team of vendors made this vision a reality. Covering the entirety of the Saint Regis Deer Valley with florals was an ambitious undertaking, requiring seamless coordination, creative problem-solving, and countless hands working together behind the scenes.

Rehearsal Dinner Ceiling

We love to see a couple who goes all out for a rehearsal dinner! This couple wanted their guests to feel cozy and comfortable as they kicked of their wedding weekend.

Montage Chandelier

This installation took place overnight, beginning at 10 p.m. and concluding around 7 a.m., requiring a full overnight production window to bring the design to life. A double-tiered hoop chandelier served as the focal point, adding dramatic scale and dimension to the space.

Blue SKy Art Installation

The bride wanted something unexpected—design that felt modern, artistic, and architecturally inspired rather than traditionally floral. We focused on creating visual interest through layers, structure, texture, and scale, allowing each element to contribute to the overall experience. From the overhead installations to the playful use of disco balls and greenery, every detail was intentionally chosen to create a space that felt immersive, unique, and effortlessly cool. The result was a celebration that felt both elevated and completely unexpected.

Jackson Hole Wedding

A wedding at a private residence presents a unique opportunity—and challenge. Unlike a traditional venue, a private home is a true blank canvas, requiring extensive coordination between the family, planner, and vendor teams to transform the property into a seamless event space. Every detail must be thoughtfully considered, from infrastructure and logistics to guest experience and design.

The wedding day was nothing short of magical, with every detail thoughtfully designed from ceremony to reception. Abundant florals transformed the celebration, featuring three lush floral chandeliers. It was a joy to bring this vision to life and create such a memorable experience for a wonderful family in a place that meant so much to them.

Blue Sky Installation

Winter weddings are a rare and welcome opportunity to create an atmosphere that feels distinctly seasonal without leaning into traditional holiday designs. For this reception, an immersive baby's breath installation transformed the space into a warm, breathtaking winter landscape. Paired with towering pine trees, the delicate clouds of blooms evoked the beauty of the season while maintaining the romance and sophistication of a luxury celebration.

We loved the challenge of reimagining baby's breath—a bloom often considered classic and familiar—in an entirely new way. The result was an installation that felt innovative, architectural, and unforgettable, proving that even the most timeless flowers can be transformed into something unexpected.

St. Regis Installation

We love a vibrant, colorful palette, so designing this floral-heavy reception was an exciting opportunity to create something truly immersive. Layers of bold blooms filled the space, bringing energy, movement, and a sense of celebration to every corner of the design.

One of the most striking elements of the reception was the illusion of floating florals suspended throughout the space. Achieving this effect required extensive planning, custom mechanics, and a significant amount of problem-solving to ensure the weight of both the flowers and their support structures could be safely and securely suspended. Every detail had to be carefully considered long before installation day.

Projects like this are a reminder that beautiful floral design is often as much about engineering as it is artistry. Thanks to the creativity, ingenuity, and collaboration of our team, we were able to bring this ambitious vision to life and create a floral experience that felt effortless, abundant, and unforgettable.

XOXO,

Artisan Bloom
